News Machhindra FC Enters SFs Of 8th Birat Gold Cup

Machchindra Football Club, Kathmandu has become the last team to enter the semi-finals of the 8th Birat Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament.

In the fourth quarter-final held on Tuesday, Machindra defeated Southern Samity, Kolkata, India 2-1 and became the fourth team to enter the final four. Stephan scored both goals for Machindra in the match at Shahid Stadium. Sonu Halder scored only one goal for the defeated Southern Samity.

Stephen, who became the referee for Machindra in the match, was also elected man of the match. Under the competition, the first semi-final match on Thursday will be between Sangrila Morang Football Association, Morang and APF Football Club, Kathmandu, informed the organizers.

The winner of the tournament organized by Birat Gold Cup Football Trust, Biratnagar, will receive 11 lakhs in cash along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 5 lakhs. The final match will be held on the 24th of Chaitra.
