The runner-up of the WAFF Women's Championship, the Nepali National Women's Football Team was awarded with cash. Loyalty Academy organized a program in Mandikhatar and honored 23 players and 8 officials who were runners-up of WAF Women's Championship.

Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa, former Minister Sita Gurung and Loyalty founder director Vijay Sambahamfe honored them with certificates and cash. Loyalty awarded the team three lakh 61 thousand 800 rupees for the honor. Birendra Kurumwang, principal of Loyalty, said that the school has honored female footballers in accordance with the aim of empowering and encouraging women by holding Women's Day.

Loyalty has provided Rs 10,000 to each player playing in the WAFF Championship and an additional Rs 5,000 for each goal. Sabitra Bhandari of Nepal is the highest scorer (9 goals) in that tournament. The school honored Sabitra with Rs.55,000.

Coach Rajendra Tamang, Assistant Coach Ujwal Manandhar and Kamal Rakhal, Goalkeeper Coach Ujwal Manandhar, Physiotherapist Navina Shrestha, Official Sarila Shrestha Malekhu, Team Leader Pema Dolma Lama were also honored with five thousand one hundred rupees each.

On that occasion, Thapa, who is also a former minister, mentioned that women's football is getting success in Nepal recently and expressed hope that this success will also make the common people happy. He opined that this success of Nepalese women players is admirable when it is difficult to say that they will do something in Nepal as a player. In the final of the WAF Championship held in Saudi Arabia last February 29, Nepal lost the title 5-3 to Jordan in a penalty shootout.
