Nepal, which came close to the title in its first participation, was defeated by Jordan, the former winner, in the finals of the WAFF Women's Championship in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Nepal lost to Jordan in a tiebreaker in the match held at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium on Thursday late night.
Before that, both the teams played an exciting draw of 2-2 goals in the competitive match of the scheduled time. In the 29th minute of the game, Nepal took the lead through Sabita Rana Magar's goal and could not maintain that lead.
In the 73rd minute, Lana Ferraz equalized for Jordan. Similarly, in the 89th minute, Sarah Abu Saba scored the second goal for Jordan.
However, even Jordan could not celebrate the happiness of that goal for long. In the injury time, Nepal got a penalty opportunity. Which was converted by Geeta Rana without any mistake.
After the scheduled match ended in a 2-2 draw, Jordan managed to defend the title with a 5-3 result over Nepal in the tiebreaker.
After Amrita Jaisi's penalty kick was saved by the opposing goalkeeper, Nepal became disappointed.
