The world governing body had asked ANFA to hold the election on scheduled date (March 28, 2018). But the FA postponed the election following interim order from Patan high court.
The court had issued interim order reviewing writ filed by Makwanpur and Bhaktapur district.
After ANFA postponed highly anticipated presidential election, FIFA sent a warning letter to them.
After rounds of lobbying, problems at Bhaktapur and Makwanpur have been solved and fresh election are now going to be held soon.
Organizing a press meet in Kathmandu on Friday, presidential candidate Karma Tsering Sherpa - who leads change ANFA group - revealed that 47 voters had written to FIFA to give another chance to ANFA.
ANFA was on the verge of suspension following government intervention but according to Sherpa, FIFA agreed to give another chance after they sent the letter.
“This could be last option for ANFA. There is no option to election. But I doubt hurdles for ANFA election, again”, he told the press.
ANFA will announce fresh date after two districts, Bhaktapur and Makwanpur will hold their assemblies soon.
ANFA hasn't said anything about the latest developments.
