News Jhapa: Arjundhara Enters Knockout Stage As A Group Winner

Arjundhara municipality has won the last match of the league stage under the first inter-municipal district level league and knockout football competition.

In the second match, Arjundhara won by defeating Damak Municipality by 2-0. Damak became the only team to lose all three games in the ongoing tournament.

Although the first match was between Shivasatakshi and Kamal, Shivasatakshi scored 3 points and 3 goals directly because Kamal rural municipality was banned from the game.

Even though Shivasatakshi and Arjundhara in Group D had the same 7 points and equal goal difference, Arjundhara became the group winner based on receiving a yellow card. Arjundhara got one yellow card and Shivasatakshi two yellow cards in the league stage matches.

Arjundhara, who became the group winners, scored goals in the 64th minute of today's match by Rajesh Dahal and in the 73rd minute by Nikhil Tamang.

Badal Tamang of Arjundhar, who was the player of the match, received a cash prize of 2000 and a trophy. The Player of the Match award was presented by the Chief Guest, Koshi State Assembly member Bhumi Prasad Rajvanshi and others. General Secretary Jeevan Kumar Shrestha informed that the final match of the tournament, which was organized with the aim of producing young players from Jhapa, the fertile land of football, will be held on November 24.

With today's match, the matches in the league stage are over. The knockout stage matches will start from the quarter finals. The quarter-final matches will be held on Mangsir 19 and 20.

The first quarter-final match will be between Buddhashanti Rural Municipality and Shivasatakshi Municipality, while the second quarter-final match will be between Jhapa Rural Municipality and Bhadrapur Municipality. The semi-final match will be held on Mangsir 22.

The winner of the competition will get cash 3 lakh, trophy, medal and certificate, while the runner-up will get cash 2 lakh, trophy, medal and certificate.

The player of the match of each game will get Rs 2,000 in cash. Similarly, the best goal keeper, best coach, top scorer and budding player will receive cash of Rs 5,000, trophy and medal. It is estimated that 80 lakh rupees will be spent to complete the competition.
