Phungwa Youth Club Phuetappa and Five Star Angsarang Panchthar have entered the quarterfinals in the Shubh Dipawali football tournament held at Dokan Danda located in Phakphokthum Rural Municipality 7 on Sunday.
In the first match, Phuatappa defeated the competitor Phaktep Youth Club Panchthar by 2-1 goal difference. For Fuetappa, Sandesh Limbu scored in the 6th minute of the game to take the lead. Similarly, Ashish Limbu doubled the lead in the 24th minute. He became man of the match.
Although Vijay Angdembe scored a goal in the 34th minute of the game for Phaktep, the team could not return to the game. The visiting team was eliminated in the first round. In the next match, Five Star defeated Mahmai FC by 2-1 and entered the quarterfinals. Madan Limbu scored in the 27th and 43rd minutes of the game for Five Star. He became man of the match. Simon Rae conceded only one goal for the competitive Mahamai.
16 teams are participating in the competition organized by Phakphokthum Ward No. 7 Sports Development Committee.
The winner of the competition will get 1 lakh 25 thousand in cash and the runner-up will have to settle for 75 thousand in cash.
