Nepal has entered the second stage of the qualifying tournament after scoring a significant victory in the first round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup 2027.

In the away match, which was considered decisive on Tuesday, Nepal defeated the home team Laos 1-0 and managed to get a place in the second round with an overall lead of 2-1.

The only goal scored by Manish Dangi in the 53rd minute towards the second half of the match at the New Laos National Stadium became decisive to give Nepal an important victory.

Remember, the first leg match between Nepal and Laos at Dasharath Stadium last week ended in a 1-1 tie.

Towards the second stage, Nepal is placed in Group H. Where Nepal will play against UAE, Bahrain and Yemen on home and away basis. The games are scheduled to be held from November of this year to June of next year.
