News Jhapa FC Enters SFs Of Expert Ekata Sporting Gold Cup

In an impressive display of football prowess, Jhapa FC, a reserve team of Nepal Super League side,  has advanced to the semi-finals of the 2nd Expert Ekta Sporting Gold Cup football tournament, taking place at Charpane.

Jhapa FC demonstrated their superiority on the pitch as they triumphed over Buttabari United FC with an emphatic 5-0 victory during a riveting match hosted at Bir Amarsingh Secondary School in Beldangi, Birtamode 2. The Jhapa side maintained relentless pressure throughout the game, exhibiting exceptional finishing and coordination to secure their win.

Ayush Shrestha was the star of the match, contributing to Jhapa FC's triumph with goals in the 29th and 48th minutes. Sanjay Dhimal found the back of the net in the 34th minute, while Dipesh Shrestha followed with a goal in the 38th minute. Rajesh Tamang added to the tally with a goal in the 71st minute. After Buttabari's goalkeeper was shown a red card and left the field, Prashant Century stepped in as a substitute.

Ayush Shrestha's remarkable performance earned him the title of "Player of the Match," along with a prize of 3,000 rupees in cash.

Eight clubs from Jhapa are participating in this fiercely contested tournament, including Jhapa 11 FC, Bahundangi FC, Buttabari United, Jhapa FC Rajgarh, Sainik FC, Nav Pratibha Yuva Club, Brothers United, and the organizing team, Ekta Sporting Club, led by President Kiran Paudel.

The tournament's final match is scheduled for November 3rd, with the championship winner set to receive 111,111 rupees, while the runner-up will be awarded 55,555 rupees, in addition to trophies, medals, and certificates.

Moreover, the tournament recognizes outstanding individual performances with cash prizes. The best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, coach, high scorer, and overall best player will each receive 3,000 rupees, as announced by Technical Committee Coordinator Madhav Kharel.

Established in 2074, Ekta Sporting Club has been making a significant contribution to youth football development. They have been providing football training to over 100 young talents under the age of 16, employing skilled coaches at the Bir Amarsingh Secondary School grounds. Their mission is to nurture and bring the abilities of these youth to the forefront of national development, recognizing them as an invaluable resource for the nation in terms of both quantity and quality.
