Surunga veterans defeated Dharan workers veterans FC 5-4 on penalties to enter second round in Nepal Indo veterans championship in Kakarvitta, Jhapa on Wednesday.

Both teams played 1-1 draw in regulation time. Dipendra Bimali became the man of the match and he received Rs 2100 cash.

The match between Kakarvitta veterans FC and Kalimpong United veterans was postponed due to bad light.

Birtamod veterans will meet Rhino Doars and Eastern veterans will play against Dhaijan Charaali on Thursday.

The championship has a winning purse of Rs 1,25,000.
