
Jalthal Football Club has won the Harka Rai Memorial Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament. In the final held on Saturday, Jalthal defeated APF Pakali 5-4 in the tiebreaker and won the title.
Before that, both the teams played a 1-1 draw in the scheduled time at the Jamunkhadi ground. In the tiebreaker, Jalthal managed to make the result in their favor.
Jalthal, who became the winners, received Rs. 1,11,000 cash along with the title, while the runners-up APF were forced to settle for Rs. 55,000.
Similarly, Jalthal's goalkeeper Samir Limbu was chosen as the man of the match in the final and the best player of the tournament. Arvind Chaudhary of APF won the award for the highest goal scorer.
The winning players were awarded by Late Harka Rai's family and the organizers Jamunkhadi Sporting Club President Ganesh Giri and other guests. Publicity Coordinator Sagar Giri informed that a total of eight teams from Province No. 1 participated in the competition.
