News Nepali Trio Off To India For Upcoming IWL Season

Kathmandu - Three important members of the Nepali National Women's Football Team Sabitra Bhandari, Anjila Tumbapo Subba and Gita Rana have left for India to play in the famous Indian Women's League. They left for India on Thursday night.

In the I League, Sabitra will play for Gokulam Kerala FC while Anjila and Gita will play for Sethu FC.

This will be Sabitra's second season in Kerala and third in the I-League. She first played in the I-League for Sethu FC in the 2018-19 season. She had also won the league title with Sethu. At that time, along with her, another player from Nepal, Anita Basnet, was also involved in Sethu.

After spending one season in Sethu, Sabitra joined Kerala in the next season. In that season, too, she performed well for Kerala and won the league title. Sabitra finished that league season as the highest goalscorer.

On the other hand, Anjila and Geeta will have their debut season in the I-League. They will also be trying to make an impact at the top level of Indian women's club football. Anjila is also the regular captain and goalkeeper of the Nepali National Women's Football Team. Similarly, Gita plays in the defensive line and is also a significant national team member.
