News Belbari Into The Semifinals Of Pittsburg Challenge Cup

Morang - Belbari Football Club Belbari have won the second match of the Pittsburg Challenge Cup held in Morang's Pathari on Saturday. Belbari defeated Bhutanese Youth Club, Beldangi, Damak 2-1 to reach the final four of the tournament.

In a very competitive match, Wilson Giri of Belbari FC scored a goal in the 21st minute of the match to give his team the lead. Nishan Limbu doubled the lead in the 65th minute. BYC pulled one back in the third minute of stoppage time through Nabin BK's goal but it was too late.

Mausam Limbu was named the player of the match. He received Rs. 2,500 cash and a trophy.

Pathari Camp and Letang FC will face each other on Sunday.

After 1-0  in the first half, Bhutanese youth club Beldagi Damak scored another goal in the 65th minute of the game. Belbari's Nishan Limbu beat the keeper and scored an excellent goal on a pass from the middle of the field.

According to the organizing committee, the first and second-placed clubs in the competition will be awarded Rs. 2,01,000 and Rs. 1,01,111 respectively. Bikki Rai of the organizing committee said that the man of the match of each game will be awarded Rs. 2,500 cash prize and the other statutory best players will be awarded cash prizes ranging from 5 to 7.5 thousand rupees.

Arjun Bista said that the Pittsburgh football tournament is also being held in America among Nepalis.

According to the organizers, eight teams including Damak Academy, Pathari-11 FC, Chartare FC (Letang), Bhutanese Refugee Camp, Patharishanishare, Belbari FC, Beldangi Bhutanese Refugee Camp, Jahada FC and 10 Navodaya will participate in the tournament.
