News Sri Lanka Into The Semis Of SAFF U17 Championship

Sri Lanka have made it into the semifinals of the SAFF U-17 Championship. The hosts have made it into the final four courtesy of a 1-0 victory over the Maldives on Friday evening.

With Sri Lanka's semifinal qualification, the four teams in the semifinals of the tournament have been finalised. Sri Lanka will be facing Nepal in the second semifinal of the tournament while India will take on Bangladesh in the first semifinal.

Nepal defeated Bhutan and India on their way to the semifinals. Similarly, India defeated Bhutan and succumbed to Nepal on Friday afternoon.

In group A, Bangladesh finished at the top with two dominant displays, scoring ten goals in two matches against the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

The semifinals will be played on September 12.

Six South Asian nations are participating in the tournament.
