Shangri-La Youth Football Club, a well-established football club based in the USA is going to host a seven-day basic football training camp for the first time ever in the history of Bhutanese football in the USA.

The event is happening from May 28th to June 4th in the beautiful city of Columbus and it’s free of cost for both boys and girls of the Bhutanese community across the nation. “Lot of intellectual community leaders, supportive business owners, individuals and Bhutanese football fans have supported the event both financially and morally,” said the team manager, Moni Bhattarai.

The club has hired two extra professional and qualified coaches besides one of its own. Those hired coaches have already worked as head coaches under the Bhutan Football Federation.

“It is an opportunity for our youths to learn to know that soccer provides an opportunity to learn good social values and healthy lifestyle habits both of which are instrumental to youth development. This camp is a nice way for young people to learn more about soccer with qualified and skillful coaches. It will help them polish their football skills and add another brick to their play.” said club coach, Kiran Thapa.

Mr. Thapa also added, “BESIDES PRODUCING A POTENTIAL PLAYER, OUR GOAL IS ALSO TO RAISE AWARENESS ON BHUTANESE YOUTH SUICIDAL PREVENTION AND DRUGS AND ALCOHOL-FREE COMMUNITY THROUGH GAMES AND SPORTS.”

The event is supported by a nonprofit organization called “HOPE” and the management team of the club/event is excepting only limited young players so don’t miss the opportunity.
