Pema Dolma Lama was elected President of the ANFA Women's Association on Tuesday after winning the elections held at the ANFA Complex.
Lama won by defeating her only opponent, Bimala Poudel. Lama received 36 votes to Poudel's six, out of a total of 42.
Vice president positions were gained by Pramila Singh Shrestha, Luna Pradhan, and Kamala Hirachan Thakali. Shrestha was elected with 38 votes, Pradhan with 35, and Hirachan with 34. Rama Bhattarai, another vice presidential contender, received seven votes.
After just seven applicants competed for the slot, the election commission declared seven members unanimous. The association welcomed Brinda Dewan, Dipa Chhetri, Sarila Shrestha Maleku, Saraswoti Shrestha, Lila Maya Thapa, Chandra Bhandari, and Bina Shrestha as members.
Former Nepali international and former assistant treasurer of the Women's Association Nandakala Thapa, who died on Monday night, was remembered with a minute of silence.
