News Pokhara: Sangam B & Sano Gaucharan Into The Final Of National Veteran Tournament

Two semi-finals of the ongoing National Nine-A-Side Veteran Football Tournament organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports have been completed on Monday in Pokhara. 

Sangam B has emerged victorious in the first semi-final held at Pokhara Stadium on Monday. Sangam B defeated Bagar Bhai Khalak of Pokhara 3-1. Narendra Jung Gurung scored two goals and Lal Bahadur Khatri scored one goal for Sangam. Sangam took the lead from Khatri's goal in the 19th minute and reached the final after Narendra scored two goals in the 43rd and 49th minutes. Manoj Gurung pulled one back for Bagar Bhai Khalak in the 27th minute. Narendra was declared the player of the match.

Similarly, Sano Gaucharan defeated Chitwan in the second semifinal. Sano Gaucharan secured the final by defeating Chitwan Veterans 3-0. Tej Bahadur Galami scored in the 22nd minute and Shukra scored two more goals in the 38th and 49th minutes to secure the title fight for Sano Gaucharab. Shukra who scored a brace was declared the player of the match.

The winning team will receive a trophy along with Rs 3,00,000 in cash. The runners-up will receive Rs 1,50,000. According to the tournament coordinator Dil Bahadur Gurung, the best player will get Rs 20,000 in cash. The best striker, top scorer, midfielder, defender and goalkeeper will get Rs 15,000 in cash, said coordinator Gurung. The two semi-finalist teams on Monday received Rs 30,000 each.
