Gandaki Province Ministry of Youth and Sports is organizing the first national 9-A-side veteran football tournament which will be held in Pokhara Stadium from Baishak 2nd till 6th.

Players in the age group of 40 to 60 years can participate in the competition and two players above 50 years of age should be included in each team.Competition coordinator Dil Bahadur Gurung said. According to the organizers, 19 teams from Pokhara, Kathmandu, Waling, Simara and Hetauda will participate in the competition.

The winning team will receive Rs 300,000 in cash while the runner-up will get receive Rs 150,000. The two teams that reach the semi-finals will receive 30-30 thousand rupees in cash.

Similarly, the best player will get Rs 20,000 in cash and the goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward and top scorer will get Rs 15,000 in cash. The organizers estimate that it will cost Rs. 860,000 to complete the competition.
