The departmental team Nepal Police Club has entered the final of the ongoing Damak Gold Cup International Invitational Football Tournament. Police reached the final by defeating Gorkha Boys Sports Club, Rupendehi 1-0 in the second semi-final on Wednesday.

In the match played at the proposed Madan Bhandari Stadium in Damak, the only goal scored by Nir Kumar Rai, who was declared Man of the Match in the 59th minute, was decisive. Police will now play the final against Manang Marshyangdi Club on Friday for the title.

The winner of the competition jointly organized by Damak Municipality, Municipal Sports Committee and Municipal Football Committee will get 13 lakh rupees including the title and the runner-up will get six lakh rupees.
