Nepal have been beaten 3-1 at the hands of Chon Buri FC in the friendly played today at the Chon Buri stadium in Thailand.

Phanthamit Praphanth opened the scoring for the home side in the 24th minute of the match. Renato Kelic doubled the lead in the 65th minute with a chip from almost 30 yards out.

Darshan Gurung pulled one back for Nepal in the 83rd minute but Chonburi scored another towards the end of the match to win 3-1.

The friendlies in Thailand were part of the FIFA International Break and will serve as a warm-up for the third round of AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, which will take place in June. Nepal had previously lost 2-0 to the Thailand national team on March 24.

Nepal is in Group A, along with Jordan, Kuwait, and Indonesia, and Thailand is in Group C, along with Uzbekistan, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka. The teams will be hoping to go into the qualifiers with positive momentum.
