News Jhapa: Manang Marshyangdi Into The Semis Of Damak Gold Cup

Manang Marshyangdi Club has entered the semi-finals of the ongoing Damak Gold Cup in Damak, Jhapa. They defeated Bagmati Youth Club 4-2 to reach the final four.

Olawale gave Manang the lead in the 14th minute of the match but Bagmati equalized quickly in the 27th minute through Bimal Ghising. The first half ended 1-1.

Jamoul gave Bagmati a 2-1 lead in the 53rd minute. But it was Manang's turn to make a comeback. Silo Martin scored an own goal to take the scoreline to 2-2 in the 67th minute and just three minutes later, Olawale scored his second and gave his team the lead again. Rupesh KC extended the lead in the 81st minute and rounded off a 4-2 victory.

Olawale Afeez became the player of the match. He received ten thousand rupees in cash prize.

The Gold Cup is being held at the proposed Madan Bhandari International Stadium at Damak-3 organized by the Sports Development Committee of Damak Municipality.

Ten teams including four foreign teams are participating in the competition which started on Wednesday.

Gorkha Boys, Rupandehi and Nepal Police Club will face each other on Saturday.

The winner of the competition will get Rs 13,11,000 and the runner-up will get Rs 611,000 in cash, according to the organizers. Sports coordinator Mohan Magar informed that the best player in the competition will be given a motorcycle. The top scorer, best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward and coach will get Rs 21,000 in cash.
