News Jhapa: Bagmati Youth Club Into The QFs Of Damak Gold Cup

Bagmati Youth Club Sarlahi has entered the quarter-finals of the ongoing Damak Gold Cup in Damak, Jhapa. Bagmati defeated host Damak-11 1-0 to reach the quarter-finals.

The Gold Cup is being held at the proposed Madan Bhandari International Stadium at Damak-3 organized by the Sports Development Committee of Damak Municipality.

Anil Rana Magar scored from the penalty spot in the 88th minute of the match for Bagmati. Bagmati was awarded a penalty after a foul on Jomaul Anthony of Bagmati. Making good use of the penalty, Bagmati made a winning start in the first match.

Bagmati goalkeeper Manoj Pradhan became the player of the match. He received ten thousand rupees in cash prize.

Ten teams including four foreign teams are participating in the competition which started on Wednesday.

Chairman of Damak Nagar Sports Committee Bhim Raj Chamlagain informed that Durgapur Sunday, Kolkata and Gorkha Boys, Rupandehi will face each other on Thursday.

The winner of the competition will get Rs 13,11,000 million and the runner-up will get Rs 611,000 in cash, according to the organizers. Sports coordinator Mohan Magar informed that the best player in the competition will be given a motorcycle. The top scorer, best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward and coach will get Rs 21,000 in cash.
