Rohit Chand's Persija Jakarta were defeated convincingly in the Indonesian Jupiter Pro League campaign on Thursday. Persija were defeated by Madura United 3-1.

In the home encounter for Persija, Renan da Silva gave the away side the lead in the 18th minute. Rohit Chand then put the ball in the back of his own net in the 33rd minute to give Madura a two-goal lead. Bayu Gatra tripled the lead for the visitors just four minutes later. Taufik Hidayat pulled one back in the 64th minute for the home side.

Rohit Chand played the whole ninety minutes.

Persija are currently eighth in the league with 41 points from 31 matches. Bali United lead the league with 69 points from 31 matches.
