The AFC Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) General Secretaries’ Conference 2022 successfully concluded on Saturday, completing three days of knowledge-sharing and collaboration among Asia’s senior football leaders.

Industry specialists from Asia and beyond delivered valuable insights on a range of topics on the final day of the landmark Conference, which drew praise from the General Secretaries across the Asian football family.

Saturday’s presentations were the culmination of three days of knowledge-sharing, all aimed at further equipping Asia’s senior football leaders with the information and insights required to push the game forward in the world’s largest Continent, as well as reinforcing the already-strong ties between its key stakeholders.

Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) General Secretary Ibrahim S. Alkassim set the tone for the final day’s programme, delivering a presentation on the innovative National Football Vision of Saudi Arabia.

Participants also gained important insights from Jürgen Griesbeck, the co-founder of Common Goal, who outlined the power of football in driving meaningful change among marginalised communities.

Addressing the Conference in his closing remarks, AFC General Secretary Dato’ Windsor John outlined the significance of the Conference whilst at the same time, also expressed the AFC’s appreciation to all the participants, guest speakers as well as this year’s hosts SAFF for their warm reception.

He said: “2022 will be a historic year for Asian football but at the same time, it is crucial that we use this strong momentum as the catalyst for even greater development in the coming years and it is Conferences, such as these, that will enable us to grow stronger together as one Asian football family.

“I want to express the AFC’s heartfelt gratitude to all our guest speakers for sharing their time and valuable contributions and a special AFC thank you must also go to our dear friends from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation for their generous and warm hospitality.”
