Samajik Youth Club of Kathmandu won the fourth and final quarterfinal of the Damak Municipality Ward No. 3's First Ward Chairman's Cup on Wednesday. By defeating Damak Nagar Sports Committee 1-0, Kathmandu advanced to the semifinals.
Team Captain Krijal Khadka of Samajik Youth Club Kathmandu scored the solitary goal in the 34th minute of the first half. Damak, on the other hand, was unable to capitalize on their chances to score.
Krijal of Samajik Youth Club Kathmandu was named Man of the Match and received Rs 3,000 in prize money. In the semifinals, Kathmandu will face Damak, the hosts Damak. Mangalbare 11 FC and Pathari Sporting will play in the first semi-final match tomorrow.
The tournament is being held at the proposed International Madan Bhandari Stadium, with the support of Damak Municipality. The winner of the Ward Chairman's Cup, which includes eight teams, will receive medals, trophy and certificates, as well as Rs. 111,000 in cash, while the runner-up team will receive Rs. 55,000. A departmental cash prize will be awarded to the best player in the competition.
