News Shanishchare FC Become Jhapa League Champions

The Jhapa District Level League and Knockout Football title have been won by Shanishchare Football Club Arjundhara. Shanishchare defeated Manaslu FC, a nearby club of Arjundhara, in a tiebreaker in today's final match at Birtamod's Domalal Rajbanshi Stadium. They also won Rs 50,000 in cash, a trophy, medals, and certificates in addition to the championship.

After the regular time expired with a 2-2 tie, the game was moved to a tiebreaker. Shanishchare was victorious in the tiebreaker with a score of 4-2. Manaslu had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Shanishchare came back into the game in the second. Manaslu, the runner-up, won Rs 25,000 in cash, as well as a trophy, medals, and certificates.

Manaslu took the lead in the 18th minute when Rabin Rai put them ahead. With an acrobatic kick, he scored a great goal by hitting the ball that had gotten away from the goalkeeper. Similarly, Manaslu skipper Saugat Gomden's superb shot kissed the net in the 62nd minute of the play to make it 2-0. Shanishchare came back into the game a minute later, reversing the 2-0 deficit.

Bishal Khawas of Shanishchare evaded the Manaslu defense line and scored a spectacular goal in the 63rd minute. In the 74th minute, Thapa scored again to tie the game at 2-2.

The best player of the tournament was Saugat Gomden of Manaslu. Similarly, Rujen Neupane of Manaslu was declared the best defender, Pushpa Maden of Shanischare was declared the best midfielder, Robin Rai of Manaslu was declared the best forward and Anup Gole of Shanischare was declared the best goalkeeper. They received four thousand rupees in cash, a trophy and a certificate.

The winners and runners-up were presented with cash prizes, trophies by senior vice president of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Pankaj Vikram Nemwang, representative of main sponsor CG Brewery Anuj Bhattarai, president of Nepal Sports Journalists Forum Jhapa Himal Kharel, competition organizer Jhapa District Football Association president Bhagirath Ale (Mama).

Eight teams from the district participated in the competition.
