News Young Football Player Prajwal Rai Has His Vertebra Fractured; Appeals GoalNepal Supporters For Help

GoalNepal

A young player from Dharan, Prajwal Rai has his vertebra fractured while playing a football tournament in Sunsari district.

He was playing for Fair FC Dharan when he sustained severe injury on Kartik 7, 2076.

Rai is hospitalized at BPKIHS, Dharan and is awaiting surgery to realign the bones. A fracture or dislocation of a vertebra can cause bone fragments to pinch and damage the spinal nerves or spinal cord. Most spinal fractures occur from car accidents, falls, gunshot, or sports injury. Many fractures heal with conservative treatment; however severe fractures may require surgery to realign the bones. Doctors at BPKIHS have advised him to go under knife for the treatment.

Problem starts here. His parents are not able to cover hefty medical bills, which is approximately Nrs 5-6 lakh.
This is the fact that there was no insurance cover during the tournament.

The family has already spent more than Nrs 2 lakh after borrowing money as a loan.

On Monday, GoalNepal visited BPKIHS and met Rai and his family.
Rai seemed very emotional when we visited his ward. His parents were speechless too. They were busy managing loan for the treatment. Concerned authorities aren’t either aware about the issue or they ignore.

Understanding the urgency, GoalNepal has stepped in. We have decided to support him by kicking off a fund raising campaign on our platform.

Rai has appealed GoalNepal supporters for the help.

“I am from poor family. My parents can’t afford huge medical bills. I would be grateful if GoalNepal supporters, Nepal internationals and national players will support me in this difficult time”, appealed Rai.

Biba Media Group, which runs GoalNepal and KhelDainik has instantly announced Nrs 10,000 for the treatment.

Group CEO Bikram Thapa said, "We are there for all players and other stake holders. We will do everything possible to raise money for the treatment. Honestly, we don’t want players and their parents suffer like this. Let's help him. We want your support in this campaign".

We have kicked off the fund raising campaign by donating Nrs 10,000 from our side.
