Hamro Purbanchal gold cup got underway at Domalal rajbanshi memorial grounds on Saturday.

Hosts Zion Sporting club bowed out from the event as they suffered 5-2 defeat to Akraman FC, Sikkim.

Karan Rai scored four goals (29', 51', 85', 90+1) alone while Ganesh Limbu (83') scored another for the visitors.

Tapan Karki (60') and Tanku Lama scored apiece for the losing side.

Four goal hero Rai became the man of the match and received Nrs 10,000 cash.

Jhapa XI will play against Nepal Police Club on Sunday.
