2nd Nuwakot gold cup got underway on Wednesday at Adarsha multiple campus ground, Battar, Nuwakot on Wednesday.

Hosts Nuwakot XI – playing with A Division league players – thrashed Dip Sikha yuwa samuha, Naikap 5-0 to enter second round.

Bishwas Shrestha scored a hat trick while Patrick and Dinesh Rajbanshi scored apiece for the winners.

Hat trick hero Shrestha became the man of the match and received Nrs 10,000 cash, which is sponsored by Sakura Nepal consultancy.


Hosts Nuwakot XI will play next against Bijay Youth Club in the first quarterfinal match on Jestha 24.

Sankata Club will face Chitwan XI in the second pre-quarterfinal match tomorrow.

Nuwakot district FA and Nuwakot district sports committee are jointly organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Nrs 6 lakh. Runners up team will get Nrs 3 lakh.
