Rupandehi XI breezed into the semifinals following 3-1 win over UKFC Darjeeling in the last quarterfinal match of Ruslan 9th Falgunanda gold cup at Phidim on Tuesday.

Sunil Khadka provided lead to Rupandehi XI in the 20th minute. Rejin Subba doubled the lead in the 29th minute. Seven minutes later, Prashant Gurung cut the deficit in the 36th minute.

Rejin Subba netted again for Rupandehi in the 62nd minute.

Tshering Gurung of Rupandehi XI was adjudged the man of the match. He was awarded with cash prize of ten thousand rupees.

On Wednesday, Morang XI will face Nepal Army Club in the last quarterfinal match.

Rupandehi Xi will play next against Sunsari XI in the first semifinal match on Poush 13.

Phidim sporting club is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Rs 3 lakh.
