News Bonmatí Makes History with Third Straight The Best Award, Dembélé Crowned Men’s Player of the Year

Kathmandu, Nepal: Spain international Aitana Bonmatí created history by winning her third consecutive The Best FIFA Women’s Player award, while France’s Ousmane Dembélé was named The Best FIFA Men’s Player, at a special ceremony held in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday.

Barcelona midfielder Bonmatí was honoured following another outstanding year for both club and country, becoming the first women’s footballer to win the prestigious award three times in a row.

On the men’s side, Ousmane Dembélé was recognised after a memorable season with Paris Saint-Germain. The French winger played a key role as PSG secured the Coupe de France, claimed their 13th Ligue 1 title and lifted their maiden UEFA Champions League trophy, before finishing runners-up at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™.

England head coach Sarina Wiegman was named The Best FIFA Women’s Coach 2025 after guiding England to a second successive UEFA Women’s EURO title. Meanwhile, PSG boss Luis Enrique received The Best FIFA Men’s Coach 2025 award for masterminding the Parisian club’s historic campaign.

Chelsea and England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton won The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award, following her impressive domestic treble-winning season and decisive performances during England’s continental triumph. Italian international Gianluigi Donnarumma was named The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper 2025 for his crucial displays with former club PSG, despite joining Manchester City earlier this year.

The FIFA Marta Award went to Lizbeth Ovalle for her stunning acrobatic goal for Tigres in Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil, while Independiente defender Santiago Montiel won the FIFA Puskás Award for his spectacular overhead kick in Argentina’s Primera División.

Fans of Iraqi club Zakho SC were honoured with the FIFA Fan Award after receiving a record-breaking 2.7 million votes. The fans were recognised for their heartwarming gesture of throwing thousands of stuffed toys onto the pitch to be donated to sick children.

Meanwhile, Dr Andreas Harlass-Neuking received the FIFA Fair Play Award after saving a fan’s life by rushing into the stands to perform emergency resuscitation during a 2. Bundesliga match in Germany.
