
Machhindra Football Club, Kathmandu has entered the quarterfinals of the ongoing 24th Aha! Rara Pokhara Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament.
Machhindra defeated departmental team APF Football Club, Kathmandu 2-0 in the pre-quarterfinals on Wednesday and set its journey to the last eight.
Aditya Shakya scored for Machhindra in the 74th minute of the game, while Stephen scored in the 82nd minute to ensure the team's victory.
Machhindra's goal scorer Stephen was also declared the man of the match. He received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a trophy. The organizer informed that the match on Thursday, Magh 24, will be between New Road Team (NRT) and Church Boys United.
The winner of the tournament organized by Sahara Club, Pokhara will receive a cash prize of Rs 1.2 million and the title, while the runner-up will receive Rs 6 million and 1 million. The final match will be held on Falgun 3.
