
The stage is set for the fourth edition of the Birat Veteran Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament, which will kick off at Biratchowk, organized by Birat Veteran Club, Morang.
The tournament is set to feature 10 teams from Nepal and India.
The opening match will see N.R.C. Veteran from Sikkim, India, take on Dudhe Veteran from Jhapa, marking the beginning of a thrilling week of action. The final match of the tournament is scheduled for Magh 26.
This year’s competition will follow a unique format, with teams consisting of nine players on the field. To add a special challenge, the rules mandate that each team must have four players over the age of 40 and five players over the age of 45. Teams must submit proof of age for the players to ensure the tournament remains true to its veteran format.
The winning team of the tournament will be rewarded with a generous cash prize of Rs 1,01,111, in addition to the title. Meanwhile, the runner-up will take home Rs 50,555, along with a trophy, medal, and certificate. Prizes have also been arranged for various categories, ensuring recognition for outstanding performances throughout the event.
The tournament has received special support from Sundarharaicha Municipality, Morang, while PLO serves as the main sponsor.
