In the opening match of the second Taplejung Gold Cup football tournament, the host Sangharsh Sporting Club, Taplejung to beat KFC Siliguri to secure a place in the last four.

The hosts had to fight for 105 minutes to win against the visiting team India's Kanchenjunga FC. In which the host's victory was possible with a 7-5 goal difference.

The second half was unexpected for the hosts who took a 4-1 goal difference in the first half. The visiting team came out in the second half with a different strategy and made a dramatic comeback.

In the second half, the host scored 1 goal, but the visiting team scored 4 goals in 90 minutes to equalize 5-5. In the extra 15 minutes, the host won the hearts of the home supporters by scoring 2 more goals.

For the hosts, Dipesh Limbu, Anup Sendang, Sagar Shrestha scored one goal each, while Manjit Yengden and Savin Tamang scored 2 goals each.

Jangarbo Bhutia completed the hat-trick for the visiting team and Pranesh Pradhan had 2 goals. Man of the match of the match was Sabin Tamang of the host team. He got five thousand in cash.

8 teams have participated in the competition which will be held until 10th of Bhadra. On the occasion of the Lakhejatra festival, the competition was organized by the Lakhejatra organizing committee in the premises of Bhanujan Mavi.

The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of 5 lakhs and the runner-up will receive a trophy including 250,555. Tomorrow, Tuesday, Panchthar Football Club will compete against Sahlesh Youth Club Siraha.
