Two matches were completed on Monday in the martyr Ramkrishna Shrestha memorial Koshi provincial level inter-municipal women's football tournament in Dhankuta.

In which Morang's Miklajung rural municipality and Dhankuta municipality entered the semi-finals by winning their respective matches. 

Salija Rai scored a goal in the last minute of the game from the winning team's extra two minutes to take her team to the semi-finals. Sahidbhumi, who had occupied the strength of their side for most of the game period, ended up losing at the last moment. Sahidbhumi lost many chances to score due to lack of finishing.

Likewise, in the match between Dhankuta Municipality and Pakhribas Municipality, Dhankuta managed to win by a wide margin of 3-0.

Although the first half ended in a goalless draw, Dhankuta scored 3 consecutive goals in the second half and entered the semi-finals.

According to the organizer, in the ongoing tournament at Lower Tudikhel located in Dhankuta 5, an afternoon match will be played between Sangurigarhi Rural Municipality of Dhankuta and Kankai Municipality of Jhapa on Tuesday. Eight teams from four districts of Koshi province are participating in the competition.

The winner will get a trophy with Rs 1 lakh and runner-up Rs 50,000 cash. Ramkrishna Shrestha, a resident of Dhankuta Municipality 7, died on 3rd Chaitra 2030 in Biratnagar in the incident of bomb attack on the then King Birendra. Shrestha was declared a national martyr by the then government on January 3, 2074. The foundation run in his memory has been conducting sports and other activities.
