News Taplejung: Brotherhood FC, Udayapur Enters SFs Of 3rd Sirijunga Gold Cup

Brotherhood FC of Udayapur has started victoriously in the 3rd Sirijunga Gold Cup starting from Monday at the stadium of Sirijunga Mavi.

Udayapur entered the semi-finals after defeating the hosts Tellok Sporting Club by 4-2 at their home ground. Udayapur made a great comeback and defeated the hosts when they were behind by 2-0 goals.

Captain Suman Gurung scored the opening goal for the hosts in the 9th minute of the game. In the 40th minute of the game, Shishir Paneru doubled the lead. However, the hosts, who had home support, suffered a heavy defeat as they could not save the lead of 2-0 goals.

Udayapur's Asan Rai, who became the man of the match, scored goals in the 42nd and 48th minutes of the game to bring the team back. He got 1,500 in cash.

Similarly, Shailendra Nepali scored a goal in the 59th minute of the game, while earlier Susan Thewe of the host scored a suicide goal while clearing the ball in the 57th minute.

There will be two matches tomorrow (Tuesday) in the Gold Cup held on the occasion of the 319th birth anniversary of Teansi Sirijunga Sin Thewe. In the second quarter-final match, Deurali Sporting Club Ilam will play against Karnasing Sonam Smriti Club Taplejung.

Similarly, Khewang Sporting Club will play the third quarterfinal match against New Star Club of Jhapa. The winner of the competition will get 2 lakh 2 thousand 222 in cash and the runner-up will get 1 lakh 1 thousand 111 in cash.
