News Kavre: NPC School, Sainik Awasiya Win In 29th IGP Cup

On the seventh day of the 29th inter-school IGP football running trophy organized by Nepal Police School Sanga, Nepal Police School Dharan and Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya won, while Graceland School Sagan and James School Lalitpur played a draw.

In the first match today, Nepal Police School Dharan defeated Budanilkanth School by a huge margin of 6-1. Samir Rai scored 4 goals and Yugin Limbu scored 2 goals for Police School. 2 of the 6 goals were through penalties. Anoj Khadka scored a consolation goal for Budanilkanth through a penalty. Prabesh Tamang of the winning team was declared Man of the Match.

In the second competitive match held today, Graceland School Sagan and James School Lalitpur played a 1-1 draw. In the 63rd minute of the game, Graceland, who took the lead with a goal by Nidhara Karmacharya, was forced to score points as they could not protect their lead. In the 68th minute of the game for James, Parvisan Shrestha scored the equalizing goal. The man of the match James' performance was declared the best.

In the third match played today, Sainik Residential College defeated Spring Hill School by a huge margin of 13-0. Anubhav Puri of the victorious team was declared Man of the Match.

Tomorrow, on the eighth day of the competition, there will be three league matches, in which Kathmandu University High School will face DAV School, Laboratory School will face SOS Panauti and Nepal Police School Sagan 'B' will face Kasthamandap School.

The competition started from Mangsir 20th will continue till the first week of Poush. The first, second and third placed teams of the competition consisting of 17 teams from 16 schools will receive trophies, medals and certificates along with 50,000, 40,000 and 30,000 respectively. Apart from this, the organizers said that special prizes have been arranged for the best players in individual categories.
