Butwal Lumbini Football Club, which had a bad start with consecutive defeats in the first two matches, won its first victory in the second Nepal Super League (NSL) on Sunday.

Butwal managed to register their first win in three matches by winning 2-1 against another newcomer team, Sporting Ilam Football Club, in the only match at Dasharath Stadium.

The three goals in the game were completed in the second half. In the 49th minute, Butwal took the lead through Stefan Binong's goal and lost it. In the 79th minute, Abdulae Ba scored the equalizing goal for Ilam. Ilam had also their spot kick not converted.

However, in the 88th minute of the match, Eric Bist, the captain of Butwal scored the second and decisive goal and ensured the team's first and important victory.

Butwal Lumbini's goalkeeper Mohammadu was declared the man of the match. He received 30,000 cash as a prize.
