The venue for Nepal's inaugural match in Group H of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers' second round has been officially confirmed.
Nepal is slated to compete in their first group stage fixture, designated as an away match, against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at their home ground. The chosen venue for this encounter is the Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.
On November 16, Nepal will take on UAE at Al Maktoum Stadium, with the kickoff scheduled for 9:30 PM Nepali time.
Notably, Al Maktoum Stadium has previously hosted six matches during the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, making it a significant venue. The stadium is presently commercially utilized by the UAE Pro League Club, Al Nasser SC, including its deployment for knockout stage and quarterfinal matches.
It's important to highlight that Nepal's group in the second round of the qualifiers includes formidable opponents such as Bahrain and Yemen, in addition to the UAE.
The format stipulates that Nepal will partake in three home matches and three away matches in this stage of the competition.
