Anee Indo-Nepal challenge cup got underway in Birtamod, Jhapa on Wednesday.

Sunakothi FC Lalitpur defeated Junction Star FC, Siliguri India 6-0 in the opening match played at Domalal Rajbanshi memorial grounds.

Sishir Lekhi scored a brace while Rejin Subba, Hisub Thapaliya, Rijan Magar and Sabin Magar scored apiece for the winners.

Two goal hero Lekhi became the player of the match. He received NRs 2500.

Birtamod United will play against Panchayan FC in today's match.

The championship has a winning purse of NRs 2,22,000 and runners up team will get NRs 1,11,111.

Earlier Birtamod mayor Pabitra Mahatara inaugurated the event. Club president Bhupen Limbu, club secretary Santosh Rai and other officials were present in the program.
