Triveni Youth Club, Kalika Sports Academy and MCT started the Tribeni Gold Cup with wins in their respective matches on Tuesday. 

Hosts Triveni Youth Club defeated Bhimad Youth Club by 2-0 to advance to the next round in the competition. Serab Gurung and Ashik Gurung scored for Tribeni in the 2nd and 70th minute respectively to give Tribeni the win.

Similarly, Kalika Sports Academy defeated British Gurkha 1-0 thanks to a goal from Jaha Glory in the 54th minute.

In the third match of the day, MCT defeated Samana Youth Club 3-0 on penalties. Both teams played a 1-1 draw in the scheduled time and the match was sent to the shootout. Sanjay Shrestha opened the scoring for Samana in the 50th minute. 

Laxman Shahi equalized for MCT in the 65th minute. For Samana Youth Club, Min Gurung, Ajay Shrestha and Sanjay Shrestha missed the spot-kicks. For MCT, Bhoj Raj Magar missed, whereas Diwas Chantyal, Yakku Magar and Sudip KC converted their penalties. 

The winners of the tournament will receive Rs. 5,00,000 along with a trophy, medals and certificates.

The final of the tournament will be played on the 4th of January.
