Nepal U23 is kicking off AFC U23 qualifiers today in Doha, Qatar.
Nepal U23 is taking on Oman U23 in its first match at 7:45 PM at Aspire 4.
Head coach Bal Gopal Maharjan said,"Qatar, Oman are superior than us in FIFA ranking, infrastructure, performance and in all aspects but we will give our cent percent to bring good result.
"We could not have enough preparation due to players' busy schedule in domestic knock-out tournaments."
He told that it would be difficult task for him to choose best playing eleven.
"All players are delivering best of the best in training sessions. Its very difficult for me to choose the best eleven."
This is the first time Nepal U23 is playing against Oman U23. Out of 10 meetings of senior sides, Nepal hasn't won a single match.
The 11 group winners and four best second-placed teams along with host Thailand will qualify for the finals to be held January 2020 out of 43 teams taking part in the qualifiers. It will also serve as the qualifying round for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
The teams were divided into two zones of WEST (West + South + Central) with 23 sides, and EAST (East + ASEAN) with 20 teams.
