Bangladesh are set to begin training on August 7 ahead of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023.

The camp will focus primarily on individual training that will last for two weeks, ahead of head coach Jamie Day returning from London.

Bangladesh Football Federation Vice President Tabith Awal said a 30-player preliminary squad will be called up for the training camp, with all officials and players required to undergo tests for COVID-19 before reporting.

The second phase will commence on August 22, with 23 players in the final squad list for their Asian Qualifiers Group E tie against Afghanistan on October 8.

Bangladesh, having played four matches, sit at the bottom of Group E after defeats to Afghanistan, Qatar and Oman. They played to a 1-1 draw with India for their solitary point.

Head coach Day is eager to get the ball rolling, saying: "We will put the boys in a best possible condition before the games.

"We want to set a high target to get some points. We can get three to four points and it can be fantastic."

Nepal announced they would start training from second week of July but it didn't happen.
